List of at least four post that I find helpful in helping me with my Action Research Practice and that the kids I work with have also found helpful:
“Maternal health, girls' education,
poverty and economic opportunity, leadership development...girls and women face
oppression in many ways around the world, and this podcast will address these
issues and more.”
I belong to a non-profit organization called “WODE” Women of Diverse Endeavors. The mission is to help young girls from ages 5-20. There is also a women’s meeting once a month to discuss our own issues. I look for sites like this to help gain more insight and suggestions.
Youth
Change: Your problem-kid, problem-solver
“In a fast five minutes or less, Youth Change Director Ruth Herman
Wells, M.S. delivers immediate solutions to turnaround classroom management
problems like bad behavior, bad attitude, work refusal, truancy, bullying,
conflict, ADHD, Asperger's, and discouragement. It's fast, effective help that
makes working with difficult adolescents and children less difficult.”
· The
Week In Rap (My Favorite and my kids love this site)
“The
Week in Rap is a weekly summary of news headlines in the form of a short rap
video. The site was created by Flocabulary,
and the songs and videos are written by Flocabulary artists.”
This
is a great site. I wanted the kids I work with to learn and care about what was
happening in the world. However, they weren’t always up for watching CNN for
more than 10minutes. So since they are into rap. I thought WOW! They can fnd
out about the world in a format that they understood. Then I had them write me
a one page paper, NOT in rap, about what they understood.
